| Break Co-dependency with the Empire by Cindy Sheehan
 "Must
the citizen ever for a moment, or in the least degree, resign his
conscience to the legislator? Why has every wo(man) a conscience, then? I
think that we should be wo(men) first, and subjects afterward. It is
not desirable to cultivate a respect for the law, so much as for the
right. The only obligation which I have a right to assume is to do at
any time what I think right. It is truly enough said that a corporation
has no conscience; but a corporation of conscientious wo(men) is a
corporation with a conscience. Law never made wo(men) a whit more just;
and, by means of their respect for it, even the well-disposed are daily
made the agents of injustice."
 Henry David Thoreau: Civil Disobedience
 When my
children were young, my oldest Casey was 10; I transferred from Cerritos
Community College in Norwalk to UCLA. Although I was familiar with the
work of Henry David Thoreau, I was assigned On Walden’s Pond and Civil

textbook of mine had ever mentioned.” To help future generations of
students learn about Ludlow in their history courses, we offer here an
interview with Zinn about the significance of Ludlow and his description

| The U.S. Is Not a Democracy, It Is an Oligarchy
Global Research Apr 14, 2014
 by Eric Zuesse

 A study, to appear in
the Fall 2014 issue of the academic journal Perspectives on Politics,

| US, Russia gearing up for war over Ukraine: Analyst
Press TV Apr 19, 2014

 “We are preparing for
war. The increase of [US] troops on the eastern border [of Ukraine with
Russia], more troops, more planes to the Baltic States, to Romania,
[and] to all of the countries bordering Russia at the same time that the
Russians are maintaining their own defense capability [show that], we
are really in something of a prewar situation,” he added.
