Vladimir Putin met with Secretary General of the Saudi National Security Council and Chief of Saudi General Intelligence Prince Bandar bin Sultan, who is visiting Moscow.

Issues discussed at the meeting included a broad range of matters concerning bilateral relations, and the situation in the Middle East and North Africa.

"The King of Saudi Arabia has strongly criticized the country's intelligence officials for disclosing a secret document, which shows Riyadh has links with terrorist activities carried out by al-Qaeda in Iraq.

... King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz ordered a special committee to investigate the intelligence leak and inform him about those liable in the case. Some 37 members of Saudi's intelligence service, accused of being behind the leakage of the confidential document, were also reported to have been arrested.

The condemnation by the Saudi monarch comes as the Iraqi news agency disclosed the amount of money transferred by Saudi government officials to al-Qaeda in Iraq. Saudi officials are also reported to send explosives and weapons to the terrorist groups..

Meanwhile, Secretary General of the Saudi National Security Council Prince Bandar Bin Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz is said to be the main guilty behind the case.The report came as earlier last week, Saudi army officer Abdullah al-Qahtani was arrested in Iraq over charges of planning a terrorist attack during the upcoming FIFA World Cup in South Africa. The Saudi national entered Iraq in 2004 and was involved in militant operations carried out by al-Qaeda."

The United States solved their internal problems before the Geneva 2 conference, then they eliminated the opposition of Qatar. They now turn to that of Saudi Arabia. However, Thierry Meyssan observes, Riyadh seems more docile than Doha and is offering an arrangement that guarantees both its survival and its ability to save face.  >> Also, one must consider with the greatest attention the turnaround of their puppet, Sheikh Adnan al-Arour. In a television show, broadcast on July 31, the spiritual leader of the Free Syrian Army said he was forced (by whom?) to take up arms against Bashar al-Assad while the military way leads nowhere. A few hours later, his boss, Prince Bandar bin Sultan, was received in Moscow, not only by his counterpart, but also by President Vladimir Putin. The press service released a photograph of the reception by the President and an old photograph of the Saudi spy chief, decidedly inaccessible since the attack which targeted him in July 2012 in response to the assassination of military leaders in Syria.

Everything is unfolding as if Riyadh was being more reasonable than Doha and was accepting the principle of the Geneva 2 Conference. Their claim would be satisfied with maintaining Bashar al-Assad in exchange for a symbolic victory in Lebanon, with the return to power of their symbol, Saad al-Hariri. This would be composed of a national unity government, including the "political wing" of Hezbollah, which would explain the recent decision of the European Union to distinguish two branches within the Party of God.
