It sounds like a trick question. Eight hundred and twenty four years have passed since Saladin smoked the last Crusaders out of the holy city; seven hundred and twenty years since their descendants were pushed back into the sea. Yet unlikely though it seems, at least two uneasy heads still claim Jerusalem’s crown today.

The first is Karl von Habsburg, whose late father Otto was the last Crown Prince of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. (It was Otto’s obituaries that reminded me of this elephant pit of protocol.) Karl’s official style also features seven more kingdoms, an archduchy, nineteen duchies, eight principalites, four countships, three lordships, four margravates and a voivodeship. To be fair, all those titles are moot as well, since Austria-Hungary and its monarchy were dissolved in the aftermath of the First World War.

The Habsburgs are not the only royal family to claim Jerusalem as their birthright. The Dukes of Savoy, who became the kings of Italy until 1946, appended it to their titles for centuries. So did—and do—the Spanish Bourbons, which means that Karl von Habsburg’s main rival for the throne of Jerusalem is King Juan Carlos of Spain.

In my book Holy War, I suggest that the eschatological obsessions of successive European kings were a major factor in launching the entire Age of Discovery. King Manuel of Portugal, the sponsor of Vasco da Gama, was not alone in fantasising about reconquering Jerusalem from Islam, installing himself as the Last Christian Emperor of legend, and ushering in the End Days of the earth. Still, half a millennium has passed since then, and the survival of a claim defunct for 800 years is a striking thing. It’s a reminder, perhaps, that the notion of a Christian rebirth in Jerusalem is deeply embedded in the chivalric code that still lends a kind of atavistic glamor to European nobility.

The claims attract little controversy. Conspiracy theorists darkly murmur about the Illuminati who rule the world and the pretenders’ supposed seats at the inner table. Staunch republicans scoff that the honorific is a mere cockade on the hat, an empty echo of long-lost grandeur. Yet the real question is surely why anyone in their right mind would want to be king of Jerusalem. Could there conceivably be a more poisoned chalice?

9/11 & Putin's Strange Warning BEFOREHAND

The real piece of information I heard which just stuck in my mind came from the mouth of Vladimir Putin himself. Putin was interviewed extensively. Putin said that a week BEFORE 9/11, he was talking to Bush on the phone and he said to Bush that he had "an ominous feeling something was going to happen, something which had been planned for a long time." Those were Putin's words as best I could remember them.

That stuck in my mind. Leaders of nations are not psychic, and do not get "feelings" about things.

Putin went on to say that after 9/11, he did not want to say "I told you so..." because that was not appropriate behaviour after such a disaster. This once again affirmed, Putin's supposed foreknowledge of the event.

But the whole thing bothers me greatly. Why would Putin warn Bush? My feeling is that Putin's "warning" and feeling of "foreboding" which he felt strong enough to pass on directly to Bush, is something people should take a LOT MORE NOTE OF.

I just cannot accept that he had some kind of "psychic feeling" beforehand. It just does not sound right in a world where leaders get intelligence briefings every day of their lives.

I think PUTIN KNEW SOMETHING SPECIFIC BEFOREHAND. I think people should consider the possibility that Putin knew EXACTLY that 9/11 was going to happen. More<<

Male preference primogeniture, however, in 2004 when the Socialist party was victorious there began to be immediate moves to change the succession to be gender neutral. Spain’s royal house has remained with the Borbóns almost without interruption since 1700. In that year, Philip V became king following almost two centuries of Habsburg rule. The last Habsburg monarch, Charles II, died without children and named Philip, a grandson of French king Louis XIV, as his successor.
The story of how we arrive at the current King, Juan Carlos, is quite unusual. HM was actually born in Rome. His grandfather, Alfonso XIII had been forced into exile after twenty years of turmoil. In accordance with his father’s wishes, a nine-year-old Juan Carlos arrived in Madrid for the first time to attend school. He ended up receiving all of his education in Spain, through Complutense University of Madrid. In the mid-to late 1960’s, Spain was living under the dictatorship of Franco. Determined to ensure the country's stability after his death Franco designated an apparently pliable Juan Carlos as his successor in 1969. The young prince was carefully groomed for his new role. In 1975, two days after Franco's death, the prince was proclaimed king. In his first speech as head of state in Spanish parliament, Juan Carlos laid out the basic goals for his reign – to re-establish democracy and be "King of all Spaniards, without exception"

Blake suggested that there are four aspects (or Zoas) to the human soul and life journey. Each of these organs or faculties must be balanced for the good of both soul and society to operate in a harmonious and just manner. We all have a body which Blake called “Tharmas”. We are also beings of emotion—Blake called this “Luvah”. There are imaginative and mythic depths in the human soul, and Blake called the imagination, “Urthona”. We are also thinking beings, and Blake called reason, “Urizen”. Blake made it abundantly clear that when our bodies (Tharmas), emotions (Luvah), imagination (Urthona) and reason (Urizen) heed and hear one another, in a respectful and responsive manner, Albion (the new world) will emerge and arise. But, when any of the faculties seek to dominate, manipulate and control the other, we become victims of the dark satanic mills.

Blake was convinced, and history has confirmed his conclusions in many ways, that a form of extreme reason (right wing of the Enlightenment) has come to shape and control, dominate and determine how we know what we know and sits in the highest levels of politics. In short, Urizen has come to sit on the throne and brooks little or no opposition from Tharmas, Luvah and Urthona. The sheer dominance of Urizen as a totalitarian tyrant has meant balance has been lost and the other faculties have been colonized by rationalism and scientism. Blake sought to break the dark spell that had been cast over the western world by Urizen. It should be noted that Blake was not against reason----he merely protested against a form of reason that sought to silence and enslave the other Zoas (faculties).
